Day 1: AIRPORT – BLED - LJUBLJANA
We will leave the Ljubljana Airport to see Bled, beautiful place with a small lake and an island. The sightseeing tour of charming Bled consists of a walk along the lakeshore and a visit of the imposing Castle dwell on a cliff high above the lake. In the evening we will return to hotel in Ljubljana, have dinner and sleepover.
Day 2: LJUBLJANA – POSTOJNA – LIPICA - SEŽANA /or NOVA GORICA
After breakfast we will begin a tour of Ljubljana by foot. During beautiful city walks you will discover and see the most significant sights in the old city part: the Three Bridges, the picturesque open food market, Robba's fountain, Baroque City Hall, churches and the symbol of Ljubljana - a mediaeval massive castle situated on a small hill above the city.
In the afternoon we will take the road to the Karst region of Slovenia. Our first stop will be Postojna where we will visit the world famous Postojna Cave, one of the largest caves in the world. We will take a tour with a small train to see the close up of the majestic subterranean world.
Afterwards we will continue to drive to Lipica stud farm, where you will see the beautiful white Lipizzaner horses. In the evening we will have a dinner and sleepover in a hotel in Sežana (or Nova Gorica).
Day 3: SEŽANA/NG – VENICE - NOVA GORICA
After breakfast we will drive to Italy to see the gorgeous city of Venice. The walking tour of Venice will begin with seeing the St Mark's Square, then we will visit golden Basilica of San Marko, the Bridge of Sighs and the Doge's Palace. The rest of the day will be either free or you can decide to visit the famous Murano Island, known for its fine glasswork industry. Late in the afternoon we will return to Slovenia and have dinner and sleepover in a hotel in Nova Gorica.
Day 4: NOVA GORICA/LJ - ZADAR
After early breakfast we will leave Nova Gorica/Lj and continue our trip to Dolenjska with Bela Krajina, a specific region of Slovenia. Afterwards we will continue the drive to Croatia to our destination Zadar. There we will have a short sightseeing tour of the beautiful Dalmatian city. It has an old attractive city-centre. On a peninsula there is a girt with medieval city-walls that are witnesses of a stormy past and now a well known market. We will admire the remains of the Roman forum, church of St. Donat from 9th century, cathedral of Anastasia dated back to 12-13th century, monastery of St. Mary (11-16th century) and other city beauties. We will have dinner and sleepover in a hotel in Zadar (or close village).
Day 5: ZADAR - DUBROVNIK
After breakfast we will take a highway to Dubrovnik. Afternoon will be dedicated to sightseeing of Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik’ nick name is "Pearl of the Adriatic" and is listed as part of UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. His fascinating history includes period of the Republic of Ragusa. In the middle ages it became the only city-state in the Adriatic to rival Venice. Supported by its wealth and skilled diplomacy, the city achieved a remarkable level of development during the 15th and 16th centuries. Furthermore, Dubrovnik was one of the centres of the development of the Croatian language and literature, home to many notable poets, playwrights, painters, mathematicians, physicists and other scholars. After organised city tour you’ll have time for individual walks around the old part of city. Late in the afternoon we will settle in a hotel near Dubrovnik or on way to Split, have dinner and sleepover.
Day 6: SPLIT – TROGIR - ŠIBENIK
After breakfast we will continue to travel to the north and stop in a famous and unique city of Split. Split is protected by the UNESCO and is part of the World and Cultural Heritage. The city has about 200.000 populations, is very lively with warm Mediterranean temper and atmosphere. Split has lived its urban rhythm for as long as 1700 years. The most famous part is the Diocletian’s Palace. After seeing and feeling Split, we will continue to drive to Trogir and Šibenik (or smaller neighbouring city/village) where we will have dinner in a hotel and sleepover.
Day 7: ŠIBENIK - ZAGREB
After breakfast we will take a walk thought the old part of Šibenik and visit the Gothic-Renaissance St.James Cathedral, a masterpiece of Croatian and European architecture. Along with the old town nucleus it is listed on the Unesco Word Heritage list. If it will be possible, you’ll have an optional trip to neighbouring islands Zlarin and Prvič. Even during the Renaissance, the islands of Zlarin and Prvič were bellowed retreats of the Šibenik’s humanists, who composed poetry in their summer homes. Zlarin, an island with a rich maritime tradition, is well known for its treasure - coral. During lunch you will be able to taste the local wines. After lunch we will continue our tour to Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, where we will sleepover.
Day 8: ZAGREB/LJUBLJANA - AIRPORT
After breakfast the transfer to the airports will be organized according to the time and location of your departure flight.
