Slovenia - Italy
Day 1: AIRPORT - LJUBLJANA
Transfer from Ljubljana Airport to the city of Ljubljana will be arranged. After accommodating in a hotel, we will start with a walking tour in Ljubljana and visit the most significant sights in the old city centre: the Three Bridges, Robba's Fountain, Baroque Town Hall. Over the old part of Ljubljana there is a medieval massive castle, symbol of Ljubljana. Dinner and sleepover.
Day 2: LJUBLJANA – POSTOJNA – LIPICA – SEŽANA
After the breakfast, we will travel from Ljubljana to the Karst region. The first stop will be Postojna where we will visit the world famous Postojna Cave, one of the largest caves in the world. We will take a tour with a small train to see the close up of the majestic subterranean world. Then we will continue to drive to Lipica stud farm, where you will see the beautiful white Lipizzaner horses.
In the evening we will have a special dinner and have the opportunity to visit typical vine ceela and taste a special vine. Transfer to a hotel in Sežana will be arranged.
Day 3: SEŽANA - VENICE - RIMINI
After breakfast we will drive to Italy to see the gorgeous city of Venice. The walking tour of Venice will begin with seeing the St Mark's Square, then we will visit golden Basilica of San Marko, the Bridge of Sighs and the Doge's Palace. The rest of the day will be either free or you can decide to visit the famous Murano Island, known for its fine glasswork industry. Late in the afternoon we will continue our trip and drive to Rimini, where ww will have dinner and sleepover in a hotel.
Day 4: RIMINI - SAN MARINO – PERUGIA - ROME
After breakfast and a walk in Rimini, we will continue to drive to San Marino, one of the smallest states in EU. There we will stop for a walking tour and afterwards continue to drive to Perugia, one of the oldest Italian cities with Etruscan Ian wall, town of Pop Paul III from 16th century. We will walk to the Cathedral, the fountain of Maggiore and the old part of city. After leaving Perugia we will continue to drive to Rome. Dinner and sleepover in a hotel in Rome.
Day 5: ROME
In the morning after breakfast we will have a visit to the Vatican and its museum with the famous Sistine Chapel. Afterwards the promenade walk will lead us thru the St. Peter’s Square, we will pass the Bernini’s famous colonnade; we will visit St. Peter’s Basilica with Michelangelo’s Pieta. In the afternoon you will have time to explore the city. Sleepover.
Day 6: ROME
After breakfast the sightseeing tour of the ancient city will take us to the Coliseum, the largest amphitheatre build in the Roman Empire; to the Roman Forum, followed by the triumphal Arch of Constantine and the Arch of Titus. In the afternoon we will have a walking tour over roman squares: the Navona Square with fountain of Four Rivers, Fountain of Trevi, the smoothing Spanish steps with famous fashion shows. On request a dinner in a typical Roman restaurant will be organized. Sleepover.
Day 7: ROME – FLORENCE – LJUBLJANA - AIRPORT
After having early breakfast we will continue to drive to Florence. There we will visit the city to see the splendid Dome designed by Brunelleschi and to see the Baptistery with its renowned ’’Gates of Paradise’’. After city tour we will continue to drive back to Slovenia through Bologna, near Padova, Venezia. We will have dinner and sleepover either in Sežana or Ljubljana. The transfer to the airport of your departure will be organized.
